About Our Program
Little Learners School Readiness is a privately operated educational enrichment program designed to support children aged 3–5 in developing early literacy, numeracy and classroom readiness skills.
Our once-weekly, two-hour sessions are structured and educator-led, and are designed to complement a child’s kindergarten program — not replace childcare, kindergarten or early childhood education services.
Social and emotional development is the heart of our programs
At Little Learners, we believe that social and emotional skills are just as crucial as academic ones, especially at the Kindergarten level. These are the years to lay the foundation for skills that will support them throughout their schooling and beyond. Our program is designed to nurture these areas, ensuring your child is confident, engaged, and ready for the adventures of schooling.
Our program is designed for discovery and growth
Our program is thoughtfully crafted to provide a balanced focus on literacy and numeracy, enriched with activities that foster social and behavioral skills critical in a classroom setting. Through explicit teaching and hands-on experiences, we explore:
Literacy: Early reading strategies, sound and letter recognition, word recognition, fine motor control for pencil grip, and letter formation.
Numeracy: Counting, number recognition, and introducing simple math language concepts like big, small, up, down, more, less, etc.

At Little Learners School Readiness, we are guided by a simple yet powerful belief: children learn best when they feel confident, supported and engaged. With over a decade of experience in early childhood education across both independent and state systems, I have seen the lasting impact that strong early learning foundations can have. As a passionate Early Childhood Educator — and a parent myself — I understand how important it is to nurture confidence, independence and responsibility in young learners.

Elicia Sleet-Ford
I am a passionate educator and mother who believes that children thrive in environments where they feel confident, supported and inspired to learn. With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, and a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), I have dedicated my career to building strong foundations for young learners.
Little Learners was founded after I recognised a common concern among parents — including myself — about children feeling truly prepared and confident as they transition into Prep. At the time, my own children were just 3 years and 10 months old, and my love of working with Kindergarten-aged children inspired me to create a structured program that would strengthen school readiness skills in a meaningful and engaging way.
Beginning with just one student in August 2017, Little Learners has grown into a thriving educational community built on connection, confidence and purposeful learning.
My guiding philosophy remains simple: when children feel secure, capable and encouraged, they are ready to learn and flourish. At Little Learners, we are committed to supporting each child’s next big step into formal schooling through structured, teacher-led sessions that build independence, resilience and a genuine love of learning — all within a positive and uplifting environment.
