School Readiness
The School Readiness sessions are designed to help your child build confidence in their ability and to take risks with their learning. The sessions have a literacy focus, helping the children to develop their fine motor skills and gain an understanding of letters, sounds and words so that they are confident when starting Prep. I also incorporate numeracy games and activities to develop listening skills and develop the ability to follow multiple instructions like in a Prep classroom environment.
The lessons are full of fun and movement to keep the children motivated and entertained. The class sizes are small, so I can work one-on-one with your child throughout the class to support their needs and abilities.
School Readiness Boost
This School Readiness class has all the elements from the original class but it is condensed into an hour of power. It is ideal for children who may attend a 5 day kindergarten program and who are looking for a little boost in their learning.
Big Little Learners
The Big Little Learner session is for Prep children who may need extra help boosting their confidence and knowledge with literacy skills as well as consolidation of prior knowledge. During these sessions, the children will be engaged in hands-on learning to help them learn letters and sounds, early writing and reading skills. These small group sessions will boost your child’s confidence in the Prep classroom and be a guide to those children interested in extending these skills.
Busy Little Hands
During these sessions at Ascot, the children will be engaged in activities that help promote both fine and gross motor skills. Fine motor activities are designed to get the children moving their whole body. The activities will strengthen the muscles in the hands and fingers, develop coordination, and help to better manipulate small objects such as pencils and scissors. We'll also be developing gross motor skills via a variety of play-based activities because handwriting is a full-body skill. Overall, the activities will be full of fun, colour and movement.
Little Explorers
Our Little Explorers class is designed for toddlers who are eager to discover the world around them through sensory-rich play. In this class, children will engage in a variety of hands-on activities that stimulate their senses, from touching and feeling to smelling and listening. With a focus on exploration, curiosity, and creativity. Through sensory play, they’ll build fine and gross motor skills, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and develop social skills as they interact with peers. Every day is an adventure in our Little Explorers class, where play is the gateway to learning!
Little Creators
In our Little Creators class, children will dive into the world of creative making and imaginative play, all through the exploration of books! Each session centers around a different story or theme, allowing children to engage with books in a hands-on, creative way. Through art, craft, and interactive activities, they’ll bring the stories to life while developing their fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and creativity. As children explore characters, settings, and ideas, they will be encouraged to think outside the box and express themselves in unique ways. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your child to develop a love for reading, art, and imaginative play while enhancing their cognitive and social development!
Happy Homework Helpers
In our fun hour-long class, children will get plenty of guidance and support while they tackle their spelling and reading homework. With our small group sizes, each child can enjoy personalized one-on-one help to make their weekly tasks a breeze! We're here to make learning enjoyable and successful for everyone!
